Science Olympiad

Science Olympiad is nationwide competition. Students compete in 23 events that include earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering. Science Olympiad is designed to increase a student’s interest in STEM fields and provide recognition for outstanding achievement in team events. Students compete in Science Olympiad with the top teams advancing from Regional to State to National levels.

In February 2017, 196 teams comprised of over 2000 students from 64 public, private, and parochial schools competed in the annual San Diego Regional Science Olympiad Tournament. In addition to our impact due to the sheer number of participating students, San Diego Science Olympiad is unique in other ways, including a large number of participating school programs run by parent volunteers and participating schools able to enter up to 6 teams in the regional competition. San Diego Regional Registration opens September 5, 2017. Last day to add additional teams is December 1, 2017 or to capacity, whichever occurs first.
