Welcome to Science Olympiad, a nationwide academic science competition. Students in Science Olympiad compete in 23 events that include earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering. Science Olympiad is designed to increase a student interest in STEM fields and provide recognition for outstanding achievement in team events. Students compete in Science Olympiad with the top teams advancing from Regional to State to National levels.

The current year rules manuals are available on the National Science Olympiad website (www.soinc.org) and are updated with new events each year. The rules manuals are free to download, but a one time sign in is required.

Missouri Science Olympiad consists of 8 regions and is open to students in grades 6-12.

Missouri hosts tournaments for two Science Olympiad divisions, grades 6-8 (division B) and grades 9-12 (division C).

Each year our Science Olympiad season begins on September 1 and runs until May 31. We have an annual coaches workshop to kickoff the season and we begin accepting registrations immediately after the season opens.

Please see our Regional Webpage under the Tournaments tab to see a list of the regional directors and competition dates for each Science Olympiad regional tournament!
