Sierra Vista Middle School is excited to host it's 2nd Science Olympiad Division B Invitational Tournament Saturday, February 5, 2022. This year’s tournament will be in-person on the campus of Northwood High School in Irvine, CA as long as current protocols remain as they are.   Registration will open on October 1st, at 12 PM PDT.  We will use https://scilympiad.com/ca-svso for registration.  This invitational tournament is a great way to prepare your team for upcoming regional and state tournaments.

We are also excited to announce that in addition to our Division B tournament, we will be hosting a first-ever Southern California Division A Invitational tournament. This tournament will run in tandem with the Division B tournament and follow the Southern California Division A state tournament schedule.

The Sierra Vista Invitational is open to all Division A and B teams.  Each school may register up to three teams at the time of registration.  We will host up to 50 Division B and 20 Division A teams. Teams will only be considered officially registered once the registration form and payment are received.  Coaches may be asked to provide volunteers to help supervise events, but in an effort to lessen the burden, all tests will be written by a test-writing team that includes national medalists and medalists in the International Science Olympiads. Medals will be awarded to the top 5 places for each event as well as trophies to the top 5 overall schools. To offset the cost of running the tournament we will request a registration fee of $165 per team.

When registration opens, each coach will register on Scilympiad and create their school and teams. Once coaches have completed this step they will be able to generate an invoice.  A check payable to Sierra Vista Middle School can be sent to 2 Liberty Irvine, CA 92620.  The registration deadline is December 3rd, 2021. Please mark the envelope with "Science Olympiad: Shaun Evola"

In the event that COVID-19 protocols would change and force us to cancel the on-campus event, we have a plan in place to transition the tournament to an online mini-tournament similar to last year, but we are making every effort to keep it in person as long as it can be done safely.

We look forward to seeing you at the 2022 Sierra Middle School Science Olympiad Invitational Tournament in Irvine, CA.
