Science Olympiad

Science Olympiad is a nationwide competition. Students compete in 23 events that include earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering. Science Olympiad is designed to increase a student’s interest in STEM fields and provide recognition for outstanding achievement in team events. Students compete in Science Olympiad with the top teams advancing from Regional to State to National levels.

9/28/21 Welcome to the 2022 Science Olympiad season! Registration for Head Coaches Only (One Per Team) for the 2022 Santa Clara County Regional Science Olympiad tournament now open! 

  • The updated 2022 rule book is now available at 
  • The SCC Regional tournament will be part of the NorCal Joint Regional tournament once again. Currently we will use the Hybrid-Satellite tournament model with written events scheduled for March 7 - 9, 2022 . Teams will compete after school at their school site under the direction of their coach. The Build events will be held in-person on March 5, 2022 at a location TBD. If we are unable to meet in person, then the Build events will be online March 10 - 12, 2022. Teams unable to participate at their school site will have an alternate tournament with information to follow soon. If there are changes to the model used we will update you asap. The model will be finalized on January 7, 2022.
