Science Olympiad

Science Olympiad is nationwide competition with tournaments taking place at the local, state and national levels.   Students compete in 23 events that include earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering. Science Olympiad is designed to increase a student’s interest in STEM fields and provide recognition for outstanding achievement in team events. Students compete in Science Olympiad with the top teams advancing from Regional to State to National levels.

09/28/20 Registration for Head Coaches Only (One Per Team) for the 2021 Sacramento Regional Science Olympiad tournament is now open! Click the "Coaches" tab above and "How To" for registration videos. Volunteer Registration is NOT open.

  • The updated 2021 rules are available online at https://store.soinc.org/us/page/Welcome 
  • The National Science Olympiad (NSO) Directors have released a list of ideas for the 2021 Sci Oly tournament season. The list is dependent upon the rules and regulations of each district, region, or State when school re-opens. The update can be found at https://www.soinc.org/play/tournaments and has been approved by the NSO insurance company.
