Science Olympiad is nationwide competition. Students compete in 23 events that include earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering. Science Olympiad is designed to increase a student’s interest in STEM fields and provide recognition for outstanding achievement in team events. Students compete in Science Olympiad with the top teams advancing from Regional to State to National levels.
Tennessee Science Olympiad plans to host a virtual regional tournament on February 19, 2022, followed by a virtual state tournament on April 9, 2022** (**Please note that this date has been changed from the originally posted date of April 23 at the request of Nationals). If conditions change later this year and Covid cases recede it may be possible to host in-person regional tournaments, however, at this time enough of our tournament institutions are restricting access to their campus and/or restricting student travel, that it seems unreasonable to host in-person tournaments at this time.
Students can now take tests online.
