Indiana Science Olympiad (INSO) is a nonprofit organization devoted to improving the quality of science education, increasing student interest in science and providing recognition for outstanding achievement by students in grades 6-12.  We encourage middle (division B) and high (division C) school students to succeed in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.  Our goals are accomplished through the dedication of our executive board, advisory committee, Indiana teachers, higher education institutions & their faculty and students who organize classroom activities, research, after school science clubs, and competitive tournaments.  The main focus of the competition is to elevate science education and learning to the level of enthusiasm and support that is normally reserved only for varsity sports programs.

Indiana Science Olympiad 2021-2022 Season Update
The Indiana Science Olympiad is excited to return to in-person Regional tournaments for the 2021-2022 season.   With the current state of the pandemic, Indiana Science Olympiad has decided that we will again host in-person tournaments for the upcoming 2021-2022 season.   The State tournament this season will again be hosted by Purdue University, West Lafayette and their Science Olympiad club.  At this time the state tournament is scheduled to be an in-person tournament.  Please note that our host institutions may have Covid specific requirements, like mask requirements, limitations on spectators, etc.  We will do our best to make these requirements known before the end of registration so schools can alter their registration as needed.  If the pandemic worsens and changes are made, we will post information here and send it out to coaches as soon as possible.  We understand that these are uncertain times so we will continue with the changes to our refund policy.  For the 2021-2022 season, if a team is unable to attend a regional tournament due to Covid related issues or concerns, the school's payment will be credited to the school's registration fees for the 2022-2023 season.   No monetary refunds will be provided for cancellations.
