Science Olympiad is nationwide competition. Students compete in 23 events that include earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering. Science Olympiad is designed to increase a student’s interest in STEM fields and provide recognition for outstanding achievement in team events. Students compete in Science Olympiad with the top teams advancing from Regional to State to National levels.

Events scheduled in Tansey Gym may be moved to Blount or Watson Auditoriums.
Experimental Design: Please bring a RULER to the event. Forensics: Kit should contain Safety goggles, Lab coat or long sleeves and lab apron, supplies listed in the rules manual. Pencils and paper for notes. Chemistry Lab: All competitors are required to bring safety equipment including goggles and a lab apron or lab coat in order to participate in the lab. Additionally, teams are expected to bring their own equipment as described by the Div. C Chemistry Lab Equipment List in the rules manual. Any team that does not bring PPE will receive an automatic penalty, and any team that does not bring lab equipment will be at a disadvantage. Materials Science: The cement pucks will be dropped onto a 12" x 12" 22 gauge weldable steel sheet (Home Depot part number 1001-195-227). Also, see the list of supplies to bring found in the back of the rules manual.
