2026-2027 Washington Science Olympiad Registration
Division B (Grades 6-9) & Division C (Grades 9-12)
Please complete the online registration after Sept 18th. Team coach needs to be adults (adult 21 years or older) and approved by school officials. We will use your registered contact information for all team-related communication. Team rosters do not need to be submitted for WSO registration. Once registered, the coach (or designee) may add up to 4 assistant coaches.

2. Follow the steps to create your account (if first time)
3. After registering your school for the regional, select add/edit team if you have more than one team. You can also edit name of team(s).
4. After adding the number of teams you need, select View/Pay Registration Fees
5. Select Pay By Check or Pay-Online with PayPal - Details and Fee schedules are below
NEW: Head coach email should be unique and accessible by only the head coach. A team email or email account accessible by a group of coaches is not permitted as head coach contact. This is a National requirement to emphasize accountability.
Team Composition and Limit on Number of Teams per School
Each team may have a maximum of 15 students. Once registered, the head coach (adult 21 years or older) may add up to 4 assistant coaches. Only 6 teams from a school may register during the early registration period (September 18-December 1). Additional teams from one school may register during the late registration period (December 2-January 15) on a space-available basis.
Team volunteer
Each team with three or more years of participation will need to provide a minimum of two volunteers during registration season. Failure to complete this may delay regional assignment and prevent school from registering for the regional if we exceed the capacity. WSO board will organize and provide training for the volunteers in preparation for regional and state support. Team registration is not complete until full payments are made to WSO and all identified volunteers by the head coach fill out the form posted on https://washingtonscienceolympiad.com/volunteer
Membership Fee Schedule:
Teams are not officially registered until membership fees or Purchase Order or payment by check is received and processed. Reminder that ONLY when registration is finalized with WSO will the team be able to compete in Washington and elsewhere, including invitational and online tournaments. Fees paid to WSO cover applicable registration fees for regional, state, and national tournaments.
Payment Methods – PayPal, Purchase Order, or Check:
Make sure to complete School/Head Coach Registration prior to adding school/teams. Membership fee is $300 (per team) for all returning teams. If your school needs special accommodation, feel free to contact the state Director at statedirector@washingtonscienceolympiad.com.
- For new schools and schools who did not participate in the last five years, your first team will receive a $100 discount.
- To introduce Science Olympiad to new schools with a small student body or new schools who want to participate partially in 2025, we offer another discount of $100 for one new team per school to attend Regional in half of the regular events (coach's choice) and all the trial events.
To pay online:
- Click on the Pay registration fees button above. You will be prompted to log in.
Notes: (1) If you haven't registered your school or associated with one, the system will redirect you to the School Listing so you can review the list and register your school if necessary.(2) If your team registration has mix of discounted and regular team fees, contact State Director (statedirector@washingtonscienceolympiad.com) to identify alternate ways to complete payment ... since Scilympiad/PayPal do not allow for directly paying for all teams with different registration fees.
- Select PayPal for immediate processing. Note, PayPal charges a small fee that is covered by the payee.
- Registration confirmation will be sent following payment confirmation.
To pay by Purchase Order:
- Email full copy of Purchase Order to statedirector@washingtonscienceolympiad.com (registration will not be processed with the PO # only - send the actual PO provided by the school or the school district with official team information).
- The Scilympiad receipt/invoice may be used by the school/district to process payment. If a special invoice is needed, contact State Director.
- State Director will finalize team registration and send confirmation once payment and team volunteer information are verified.
- State Director will invoice the school/school district and credit the team registration when paid. Invoice terms are Net 30 (e.g., payment to be made within 30 days of receipt of invoice).
