Good evening!
Thank you for participating in our invitational tournament today! We hope that the competition was tough and fun for everyone! We also hope that today’s experiences help your teams prepare for future tournaments in Scilympiad.
Our Awards Ceremony will be held on Jan. 16, 2021 at 7 PM; we will share the viewing link closer to the date. Tests and Keys will be released after the Awards Ceremony.

Hello everyone,
We have some last minute tournament updates, all of which are posted in the invitational updates document.
Events
Self-Schedule Instructions: for Digital Structures and Helicopter, we have added instructions for coaches (linked here) to sign up for time slots for those who may be unfamiliar with how to do so on Scilympiad; please make sure that your team is signed up for a time slot before the tournament begins! There is plenty of room so any team can sign up for the time slot that they want.
Helicopter:

- Need to include a specifications document containing pictures showing the helicopter being weighed with the scale in view, a close up view of the rotor, the ceiling bumper part of the helicopter, rubber motor, and the main body.

Awards Ceremony
We want to remind teams to share team or individual pictures for the award ceremony. If participants are not able to or do not wish to submit an image we would like to display the team logo instead. Please complete this by Monday, January 11, 2021.

- Do not use Safari when testing in SciLympiad as it causes saving issues Sync your computer clock to your phone clock to ensure that no time is lost We recommend planning a team check before the first event on a virtual meeting platform like discord or zoom.li> Please closely read the invitational updates and tournament updates tabs.

- Log into SciLympiad early through the “Take Tests using Login ID” button and ensure that every event is present.
- For WICI Writers and WICI CADers make sure that the event correctly states your role.
- Some events may have useful information or instructions provided by event supervisors before the event starts.
- Calling on discord, phone, or zoom is a lot easier than typing through the text box in SciLympiad.
- The text box is useful for keeping track of questions skipped or questions that need a second look.
- Try not to tab into whichever communication application you may be using because it does count as out of browser time.
- Mute the notifications on your computer and try to find a quiet, preferably spacious area to spread out your notes.

We have a few more updates to share with you as we approach the Winter Holidays:
(1) Team numbers have been assigned; you can check out the complete list on the home page.
(2) Please remind parents and students to complete the tournament Release Forms. You can find this information in your Team Roster using the Head Coach dashboard. Use this guide if you need help finding the Release Forms.
(3) We are not requiring principal verification forms as part of the roster submission process.
For your convenience, all previous emails are stored and publicly available via the "Tournament Updates" link on Scilympiad.

2021 Fairfax Invitational - Email #1 [2020 Dec. 2]
Greetings!
We are sending this communication to all registered coaches for the upcoming Fairfax High School Invitational Tournament to share some important information.
First of all, the payment deadline is December 18, 2020. Teams for which we have received payment have been updated in Scilympiad; you should have received a receipt from us. We will continue to update payment status weekly.
Second, we have added Helicopter as a trial event for those who are interested. The rules are linked in the Event Schedule.
Finally, if you are a registered coach, please log onto our Scilympiad site to check that you have registered the correct number of teams.
We are looking forward to hosting you on January 9, 2021.
