Welcome to Delaware Science Olympiad
2027 Science Olympiad Registration (Updated 8/25/2026)
Division A (grades 1-6) Divisions B (grades 6-9), Division C (grades 9-12)
The 2026-2027 Science Olympiad Season is officially underway.
The Div B & C Rules were released online for free September 8th at: https://www.soinc.org/rules-2027. On the second to last page of each Rules Booklet, you will find the National Tournament Schedule for your Division. The Delaware event schedules will use the same event rotations for our tournaments so you can assign your students accordingly.
We have selected Bungee Drop for Division C and Metric Master for Division B as Delaware events. We will add that to the Delaware Tournament Schedules.
Venue and Dates
We are working on finalizing the venue and dates for our B & C tournaments: The Div C tournament is March 6, 2027 and the Div B tournament is tentatively March 20, 2027. Both tournaments are tentatively at The John Dickinson School and will be in-person, on campus and in the traditional format. We will keep you posted. The good news is that we are working with Odyssey of the Mind tournament and the Robotics competition to avoiding students having to choose between them.
To get started, team registration for Div B & C will open on Scilympiad on Sept 14.
Coaches will enter the names of the students on each team into Scilympiad and then assign those students to their specific events. The student names and event assignments can be changed by the coaches up until the tournament starts. All building events will be scheduled by the coaches using the Scilympiad self scheduling process. Scilympiad will be the official list of students and event assignments.
Division A Tournament
The Elementary School Tournament will be April 17th at The John Dickinson School. Team registration for Division A will also be in Scilympiad and will open later in September. Events and Rules will be available on the Delaware Science Olympiad website.
For new coaches and volunteers coming aboard, here are some helpful hints:
- The first order of business is to get a login by clicking login at the top right of this page.
- Documentation on how to use Scilympiad is available at: DE Scilympiad Instructions for Coaches.
Now for Coaches, you need to register your School [if not done previously] by clicking the green button Register your School above.
A few pointers on school registration,
- We have to assign team numbers after you register so if you have two teams, number them in the Short Name field (eg. DH1, DH2).
- The "Club Advisor" is you, the Head Coach.
- On the subject of payment, there is an Invoice form on our web site that you need to fill out and pass to your Business Office (Invoice: 2027 DE SO B & C Invoice). Payment can be via the State System, by PayPal or by check.
Delaware Division B & C Coaches Workshop
We will be hosting a coaches’ workshop on a Saturday morning (8:00 am - 12:30 pm) in late October or early November. At the workshop, Delaware Event Supervisors share information, offer tips and tricks for their events and answer questions. This is an opportunity for Team Coaches to get up to speed on the rules for 2027. Their handouts and other material will be available on the Delaware Science Olympiad website after the workshop.
Potential Team Coaches are also invited to attend the Coaches Workshop to learn more about Science Olympiad and the 2027 events. Hopefully what you learn at the Coaches Workshop will convince you to register a Team(s).
Tournament Staff and Event Supervisors - If you login and it will not accept you assigning a role you normally perform, let us know by emailing DEScienceO@gmail.com
and we can fix it. Same for your helpers.
