Scilympiad - Crab SO

Science Olympiad is a nationwide competition. Students compete in 23 events that include earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering.
Science Olympiad is designed to increase a student’s interest in STEM fields and provide recognition for outstanding achievement in team events.

Students compete in Science Olympiad, with the top teams advancing from Regional to State to National levels.

CrabSO was created in mind to give Division B (middle school) students another invitational to compete at before their regionals and/or state competitions as well as provide Marylanders another in-state competition. CrabSO is part of Chesapeake Stem Connections, a 501(c)(3) registered Maryland based nonprofit dedicated to supporting up and coming middle school Science Olympiad teams in Maryland. All proceeds from CrabSO are being processed by Chesapeake Stem Connections and will be reinvested back into Chesapeake Stem Connections endeavors such as financially supporting Maryland teams, providing workshops, and funding future in-person competitions.

Please note that you may only register teams for either the in-person or satellite competition. If you register for both, you will be contacted to drop your registered teams for one.

When: January 24th, 2026 8:00 AM - February 9th, 2026 11:59 PM EST

Where: Here on Scilympiad!

Cost: $75 per team, 6 team per school cap. Contact crabscioly@gmail.com if you are a Title I school with proof of Title I status by January 16th, 2026 @ 11:59 PM EST to have registration fees waived.

Registration Deadline: January 16th, 2026 @ 11:59 PM EST. To be marked as fully registered all payment (checks, cash, Scilympiad Paypal) must be dated by the aforementioned deadline.
