Science Olympiad

About Science Olympiad


Science Olympiad is nationwide competition. Students compete in 23 events that include earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering. Science Olympiad is designed to increase a student’s interest in STEM fields and provide recognition for outstanding achievement in team events. Students compete in Science Olympiad with the top teams advancing from Regional to State to National levels.

General Tournament Info


The Socorro High Division B Invitational is the first invitational tournament in New Mexico. It will run using the Mini SO tournament model, meaning teams compete from home and hands-on events are cancelled. A maximum of 30 teams will compete in scheduled events throughout the day on January 9th, and at the January 10th awards ceremony, we will award medals to the top three places.

Scilympiad Registration


To register a team, click the "Register your school" button below. This will send you to a page containing registration information, and a link to register your team. In order to register a team, coaches will have to create a scilympiad account. Once you have created your coach's account, you will be able to register your school.

Volunteers/Event Supervisors


Teams will not need to provide volunteers/event supervisors, we will find all that we need. If you are interested in volunteering, please send us an email at scioly@socorroschools.org.
