Tournament Updates

Registration with your State SciOly Organization:

  • You cannot compete if you are not officially registered with your state.

Important Event Clarifications:

  • For ALL events except Codebusters - students may leave the Scilympiad browser to reference their notes/cheat sheet; however, they may not under any circumstances use a search engine. We have no way to check for cheating during the test and expect that high schoolers will be responsible to adhere to the competition rules. If we see blatant cheating while grading the tests, we will disqualify the partners for that event.

  • Codebusters - please have your students print the reference sheet before attending the competition. This is the only event in which students cannot leave the Scilympiad browser to look at their notes/cheat sheet.

Event Schedule:

Communication During Events:

Partners can use an external communication software (Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, etc.) or use the chat function provided by Scilympiad.

Cheat Sheets/Binders:

IMPORTANT: Partners do not have to print out their cheat sheets; however, their cheat sheets (online or physical) MUST adhere to the specifications found in the rules manual. Any blatant attempts at cheating will disqualify each partner in every event he/she competed in.

As competitors can access their cheat sheets online, we will not be penalizing time spent outside of the testing browser. We believe these students are responsible enough to adhere to the honor code.

Student Registration and Release Forms:

  • Please have each of your students register for a Scilympiad account. If they attended prior competitions through scilympiad they will be able to use their previous accounts.
  • Coaches, navigate to your Coach Dashboard and click "Release Forms" to obtain the release form link. For students under 18, parents must register their own account and sign the release form for their student. Even if the students attended other invitationals, they must sign the release form again!

Login IDs:

We are asking that all students take their exams using their Login IDs in order to prevent any issues with school emails. You should provide your students their Login IDs before competition weekend. Login IDs can be found on the student roster.

Student Rosters:

The student roster deadline is January 9th, 2021.

Student Release Forms:

Student release forms need to be submitted by January 11th.
