Scilympiad - Crabso (In-Person)

Science Olympiad is nationwide competition. Students compete in 23 events that include earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering. Science Olympiad is designed to increase a student’s interest in STEM fields and provide recognition for outstanding achievement in team events. Students compete in Science Olympiad with the top teams advancing from Regional to State to National levels.

CrabSO was created in mind to give Division B (middle school) students another invitational to compete at before their regionals and/or state competitions as well as provide Marylanders another in-state competition. CrabSO is part of Chesapeake Stem Connections, a 501(c)(3) registered Maryland based nonprofit dedicated to supporting up and coming middle school Science Olympiad teams in Maryland. All proceeds from CrabSO are being processed by Chesapeake Stem Connections and will be reinvested back into Chesapeake Stem Connections endeavors such as financially supporting Maryland teams, providing workshops, and funding future in-person competitions.

Note this website is for in-person registration ONLY. If you wish to register satellite team(s), please do so through https://scilympiad.com/crabso. The deadline for satellite registration is January 16th, 2026.

Please note that you may only register teams for either the in-person or satellite competition. If you register for both, you will be contacted to drop your registered teams for one.

Where: Clarksville Middle School, Address: 6535 South Trotter Road, Clarksville, Maryland, United States 21029

Cost: $110 per team, 3 team per school cap. Contact crabscioly@gmail.com if you are a Title I school with proof of Title I status by January 9, 2026 @ 11:59 PM EST to have registration fees waived.

Capacity: 40 teams, first come first serve

Registration Deadline: January 9, 2026 @ 11:59 PM EST or when capacity is reached, whichever comes first. To be marked as fully registered all payment (checks, cash, Scilympiad Paypal) must be dated by the aforementioned deadline.

Note: If in-person registration is full, and you are still interested in having your teams compete in-person, please email us at crabscioly@gmail.com to be placed on a first-come, first serve waitlist. We will not be able to guarantee your team(s) a spot in the in-person competition, but we will continue waitlist movements should in-person teams drop out until January 12th, 2026 11:59 PM EST.
